What you should know Olympic distance: 1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run. The cool Pacific swim almost guarantees wetsuit-legal water. Helmet must be buckled before unracking your bike in T1, and stays on until it is re-racked in T2. Body marking and bike check-in are usually the day before — bring photo ID and registration confirmation. No drafting on the bike: stay ~10m behind the rider ahead or pass within 25 seconds, or expect a penalty. Coastal Coquimbo can be windy and overcast; the 10°C start warms slowly, so dress for a chilly bike leg.
