What you should know

  • Climbing is steep: the 48K gains 3150m, so plan to power-hike climbs and save your legs for the descents.
  • Humid cloud forest keeps trails wet and muddy. Expect slippery roots, rocks and low visibility in fog.
  • Check UTMX's official guide for mandatory gear, cutoff times and aid station spacing for your distance.
  • Pick up your bib in Xicotepec de Juárez before race day and bring photo ID and any required medical forms.
  • Stay on the marked course in fog. If you lose the markings, go back to the last flag you saw.
