Pack this

  • Wetsuit (USAT-legal), goggles, swim cap from check-in
  • Bike inspected + spare tube, CO2, multi-tool, mini pump
  • Helmet (mandatory), cycling shoes, run shoes, race belt
  • Two bottles with electrolyte mix + 4-5 gels for bike/run
  • Photo ID, USAT card, sunscreen, transition towel and bag

What you should know

  • Body marking and bike check-in are the day before — arrive early for the athlete briefing and transition setup.
  • Wetsuit legality depends on race-morning water temp; pack a sleeveless tri suit as backup if non-wetsuit is called.
  • Helmet must be buckled before unracking and stay buckled until re-racked. Drafting penalties are strictly enforced.
  • Course has intermediate cutoffs plus an 8:30 overall from your wave start — know your swim and bike turnaround times.
  • Maine summer sun can push 24°C+; pre-cool, hit every run aid station, and watch for early heat-cramp signs.
