Why this race

  • Official Ironman full-distance race
  • Long-standing fixture on the Ironman calendar
  • Globally recognized destination triathlon

If you like Ironman Kona or Ironman Lanzarote, you'll like this one.

Pack this

  • Wetsuit (check legality) or swimskin for warm salt water
  • Tri-suit, aero helmet, race belt with bib
  • Two bottles + electrolyte mix and 6-8 gels per loop
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, visor or cap
  • Photo ID, IRONMAN license, signed waiver

What you should know

  • Bike check-in is the day before; rack bikes and drop blue/red gear bags at T1/T2 per IRONMAN procedures.
  • Cozumel water often runs ~28°C and is usually wetsuit-illegal — plan for a non-wetsuit swim with strong current.
  • Body marking, chip pickup, and the mandatory athlete briefing happen at the expo — bring ID and confirmation.
  • Three-loop bike course is exposed and very windy on the windward side; drafting is strictly enforced by moto refs.
  • Heat and humidity are extreme — hit every aid station, take salt, and respect the 17-hour and intermediate cutoffs.
