Penghu, TW
IRONMAN Penghu takes place across Taiwan's Penghu archipelago of 90 islands in the Taiwan Strait. The race features an ocean swim (two counter-clockwise triangular laps), a rolling bike course along Route 201/204/11/12/203 crossing the Penghu Great Bridge with 3 loops between two turnaround points, and a flat 42.2km run course passing Guanyinting Recreation Area, Xiying Rainbow Bridge, and the world's tallest bronze Matsu statue. It is a Fubon Financial-sponsored full-distance IRONMAN event and an IRONMAN World Championship qualifying race, held in Penghu's Hawaii-like tropical climate (avg high 86°F/30°C, low 73°F/23°C) as ideal Kona preparation.
