Pack this

  • Light singlet, cap and SPF 50 sunscreen for the strong tropical sun
  • Gels or chews: one every 40-45 min for the 21K and 42K
  • Electrolyte tabs for the aid-station water, or a 500ml soft flask
  • Anti-chafe balm and broken-in road shoes with your bib already pinned on
  • ID, a small amount of bolívares/USD and a phone in a zip bag for after

What you should know

  • Caracas sits at about 900m. The thinner air is mild, but start a little slower than your sea-level goal pace.
  • February is the dry season. The day warms up quickly after sunrise, so drink at every aid station from the start.
  • Check the official guide for the start time, cutoffs and road closures. The 42K will have the strictest time limits.
  • Pick up your bib before race day as the organizer instructs. Bring your ID and registration confirmation.
  • Plan to get to Parque Los Caobos early and arrange a ride home. Leave valuables at home and keep your phone with you.
