Pack this
- Two 500ml flasks + electrolyte tabs for the dry 21°C air
- Lightweight singlet, cap, and SPF 50 sunscreen

- 4-5 energy gels (one every 35-40 min) plus a salt cap
- Bib, timing chip, and official photo ID for packet pickup
What you should know
- Monterrey sits near 540m with very dry air — start sipping fluids early and use every aid station.
- December mornings start cool (10-12°C) but climb fast under full sun; a throwaway layer at the corral helps.
- Course is certified and Boston-qualifying, with a strict 6-hour cutoff and rolling street reopenings.
- Expo packet pickup is mandatory beforehand; no race-morning bib collection, and ID must match registration.
- Expect short bridge climbs and concrete around Fundidora — pace the rollers conservatively early on.
