Why this race

  • World Athletics Platinum Label road race
  • Canada's flagship marathon and National Marathon Championships
  • Olympic Trials host with elite international field
  • TCS title sponsor, part of Canada Running Series

If you like Houston Marathon or Prague Marathon, you'll like this one.

Pack this

  • Photo ID + race confirmation email for bib pickup at the expo
  • Lightweight long-sleeve or arm sleeves for ~8°C October start
  • Gels every 30-45 min (4-6 for marathon) + handheld 500ml flask
  • Body Glide on nipples, inner thighs, and under sports bra straps
  • Throwaway gloves and a mylar/garbage-bag layer for the start corral

What you should know

  • Bib pickup is at the expo in advance — no race-morning pickup, so plan travel and ID accordingly.
  • Marathon enforces a 6-hour course cutoff (~13:45/mi); falling behind moves you to sidewalks and reopened roads.
  • Course is a net-fast out-and-backs along Lake Shore with exposed wind sections — expect headwind on the western return.
  • Gear check is at Nathan Phillips Square; the finish is a short walk away on Bay St. so pack a warm post-race layer.
  • Aid stations carry Nuun and water roughly every 3km; gels are only offered at a couple of late-race stations.
