Pack this

  • Singlet, shorts, and a throwaway long-sleeve for the cool canyon start
  • Two gels per hour plus electrolyte capsules for the dry Utah air
  • Sunglasses, visor or cap, and SPF 30+ sunscreen for exposed late miles
  • Cushioned road racers already broken in over 30+ km
  • Photo ID and confirmation email for Friday expo bib pickup

What you should know

  • Marathon starts up Provo Canyon around 6am — buses leave downtown early and there is no race-morning packet pickup.
  • Course begins near 1700m elevation and drops ~330m; pace conservatively early to protect quads for the flat final 10K.
  • Aid stations sit roughly every 2 miles with water and electrolyte; dry canyon air means drink before you feel thirsty.
  • Marathon cutoff is 6 hours (~13:45/mile); slower runners may be moved to the sidewalk as roads reopen.
  • Headphones are discouraged on the canyon road — listen for vehicles and marshals at canyon-exit intersections.

The information shown here is based on the most recent listing we could find, and may change. Always confirm details on the event's official site before registering.
